This digital itinerary was thoughtfully crafted by me and my travel bestie, Dwayne. We spent months and countless hours ensuring we covered all the key destinations we wanted to experience along the western coast of Africa.

Originally planned for October 2020, our journey was postponed due to COVID. A year later, in October–November 2021, we finally made it happen.

To streamline our route and navigate the land borders efficiently, we partnered with Intermix Tours. Their expertise was invaluable in ensuring a smooth journey, especially given the rugged terrain and limited cell service. Without their guidance—particularly Helena’s support—I’m not sure we would have pulled it off. Our driver was fantastic, getting us safely to every destination. For Uganda and Rwanda, we planned everything independently without the assistance of a local tour company. Once we arrived, we coordinated all activities ourselves, with the exception of Gorilla Trekking, which we arranged through a local provider.
